Lockdowns and travel restrictions are not going to stop us from making the most of the remainder of 2020.

While the APPTUTTi team is gutted to not be able to catch up with our existing partners and welcome new partners in person this year, the new virtual norm (at least for the foreseeable future) has unlocked our access to a wider international developer base. Opportunities are greater than ever for budding developers who may not have otherwise been able to attend physical events and perhaps the digital networking landscape is here to stay.

Here is our guide to upcoming virtual (and the daring in person) industry events we are keeping our eyes on.

Indie Arena Booth (Online, Aug 27)

What’s more important than to kick off the list with an event that couldn’t be named for adeptly for indie developers!

GamesEd (Online, Sep 8)

It’s not just about you but the FUTURE of game development. Get the latest insight into how industry and educators are working together in the challenging days of Covid-19 and Brexit, and the pathways open to the next generation of talent.

The objective is clear: to get your game funded.

Pax Online x EGX Digital (Online, Sep 12-20)

Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki (Online, Sep 14-18)

The next edition of Pocket Gamer Connects was scheduled to fly our team out to Helsinki and relive the excitement that the 2019 edition brought. Alas, the pandemic swept the globe and out came two jam-packed digital events from PG Connects since. So in just a few weeks, we will sink into our comfy sofas and some good chats with Finland’s Finest. Get it? Sink?

Blockchain Gamer LIVE! Digital #1 (Online, Sep 14-18)

Alongside PG Connects so absolutely no excuse to not dip into a bit of blockchain action to unblock your imaginations.

Digital Dragons 2020 (Online, 15-18 Sep)

The wonders of digital is that we can take our multitasking ability to the next level like true indie developers and attend multiple online events simultaneously. While the schedules for Digital Dragons and PG Connects will overlap, fortunately we won’t have to pledge allegiance to either Krakow or Helsinki! We’d never know if you turn up on screen straight out of bed with dragon’s breath. Cease this once in a life opportunity to connect in true lockdown style. Now that’s what we call “breathtaking”.

PS: we are still searching for the 2020 ultimate combo of overlapping events held across various time zones. “Sleep?” you ask. “What do you mean?” replied the indie dev.

Melbourne International Games Week 2020 (Online, Oct 3-11)

As Asia Pacific’s largest digital games celebration, you won’t want to miss out on this, especially when you won’t have to drag through the week after spending days in the skies.

White Nights (Moscow, Oct 14-15)

We have spent some glorious nights at White Nights in the past so crossing our fingers for this one. If not, we shall keep them crossed for Berlin in January.

Following the successful NG20 Online back in May, were registered participants got comfortable with the MeetToMatch networking service, the physical edition in Malmö, Sweden is set to welcome back industry professionals and Nordic heroes in November.
