Casual Connect is an exhibition that takes place in 3 different locations every year.

Belgrade, London, and starring this year in the greater bay area in China, Shenzhen; this event has so far gather more than 5,000 people since its foundation in 2005.

Casual Connect is the educational component of the Casual Games Association, the international trade association for casual games professionals.

For Casual Connect Asia, this event has taken it to another level. Shenzhen was the city selected for welcoming its professionals. Located in the southeastern China, this city is a modern metropolis that links Hong Kong to China’s mainland. It’s known for its shopping destinations, technology, and excessive entrepreneurial spirit. The city also features contemporary buildings, such as the 600m-tall skyscraper Ping An International Finance Centre, and a number of amusement parks.

Casual Connect in Asia is about matching the creativity of the games industry with new media innovation and investment to find the next big thing. Greater Bay Area China represents the forefront of Asia’s growing tech sector bringing together the synergistic offerings of the Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macau metro regions.

With over 100 speakers and lectures from the leaders in the emerging markets of the games industry covering game design, social gaming, funding, next-generation technology and best practices; this city not only is a great destination for entrepreneurs, but it brings the perfect balance for active gamers, and game developers.

APPTUTTi had the chance to attend this important event, where we got to experience the best of the occidental and oriental world in terms of updates of mobile game publishing in China, exchange of marketing experiences, among others.

Other events took place in Casual Connect Asia. One of them was the Indi prize and Dev Showcase which gave prices to participants from Asia, LATAM, North America, and Australia. The price were given to: Hamsterdam from Muse Games, Salad Hunters, Impossible Golf from Slam Gamez, among others participants.
